Watch this amazing video of award-winning filmmaker and intellectual activist Michael Moore nearly speechless as he comes to terms, on Countdown [1], with a Cigna Insurance industry executive, now retired from the industry, who has written a book about how the insurance industry conspired to attack Moore and his movie "Sicko" [2], and deny Americans good healthcare, ultimately being about the failure and sorry state of corporate America, subverting and smearing the best interests of citizens... "which kills 45,000 people a year".

Sicko promotes the concept of universal healthcare, which renders the health insurance industry useless. In its current state, revealed here, the health insurance industry is far worse than useless than you may ever imagine... it is collusive, murderous, and evil, as confirmed by one of their top executives ever.

Wendell Potter, a former Cigna Vice President of Communications, has since left Cigna, joined the Center of Media and Democracy [3], and written Deadly Spin [4] - An Insurance Company Insider Speaks Out on How Corporate PR Is Killing Health Care and Deceiving Americans, which describes how he was sent by the "industry" to "spy on (Moore's) movies" and "push Moore off a cliff". This interview highlights how industry creates front groups and false information is embedded in mainstream media, completely corrupting American public information, government and our economy, causing the failure that is the "civilized world" today.

Potter is called a "hero" by Moore for resigning from the insurance industry and coming forward with the truth about his former employers.

What if other professionals, besides Potter, came forward and did the right things as humans and professionals in all fields of work [5], across America?

Perhaps this marks the beginning of a movement of social consciousness among baby boomers, who have been so foolish and corrupted by greed my entire Gen-X life.

Perhaps it is just a flash of honesty in an otherwise dishonest time and society.

In either case, this is real.

(L-R) Alex Potter, Michael Moore and Wendell Potter In advance of my appearance with Michael Moore [7] on Countdown with Keith Olbermann [8] tonight on MSNBC [9] (8 and 11 p.m. ET), I would like to offer an apology to both Moore and his arch enemy, the health insurance industry, which spent a lot of policyholder premiums in 2007 to attack his movie, Sicko.

I need to apologize to Moore for the role I played in the insurance industry's public relations [10] attack campaign again him and Sicko, which was about the increasingly unfair and dysfunctional U.S. health care system. (I was head of corporate communications at one of the country's biggest insurance companies when I left my job in May 2008.) And I need to apologize to health insurers for failing to note in my new book, Deadly Spin [11], that the front group they used to attack Moore and Sicko -- Health Care America [12] -- was originally a front group [13] for drug companies. APCO Worldwide [14], the PR firm that operated the front group for insurers during the summer of 2007, was outraged -- outraged, I tell you -- that I wrote in the book that the raison d'être for Health Care America was to disseminate the insurance industry's talking points as part of a multi-pronged, fear-mongering [15] campaign against Moore and his movie. An APCO executive told a reporter who had reviewed the book that I was guilty of one of the deceptive PR tactics I condemned: the selective disclosure of information to manipulate public opinion.
