Dear Customers,
What is the news? MEDIHONEY® dressings have been assigned to a covered code, effective immediately. We received notification that, effective June 15, 2015, MEDIHONEY® dressings have been assigned to A4649, miscellaneous surgical supply. With this decision MEDIHONEY® dressings are again covered by Medicare Part B.
You can order today. With the covered codes and coverage back, your Medicare Part B Patients with eligible wounds have access to MEDIHONEY® dressings again. For your convenience, we have provided a chart below indicating the MEDIHONEY® dressing and its code. If you have any questions, our Customer Service Center [1-800-825-4325] is available to assist you.
Accept only a Yes from your DME partner. We want you to be aware that with the A4649 code, additional paperwork and justification will be required from the DME supplier. We ask you to press your DME to do that additional paperwork. If you are getting push back, please contact our Customer Service Center for assistance. Make no mistake, if you believe your patient would benefit from a MEDIHONEY® dressing, have confidence to write the order.
Thank you for your support! We sincerely thank you for your outstanding support in helping to change MEDIHONEY® dressings from a non-covered code to a covered code. Your voice has and will continue to be heard. While this code allows your Medicare Part B patients' access to MEDIHONEY® again, we will continue to work to secure more specific coding for all the MEDIHONEY® dressings.
