Shaker Heights is the most effective suburban NEO virtual community I've found - their website has excellent ICE (Information Communications Effectiveness), and by registering you receive valuable up-to-date insight from City Hall, ranging from information on their sustainable development initiatives, changes to trash pick-up schedules, and today notice of a new "Farmers Market" now providing residents access to locally grown and produced food and crafts - now featured each Saturday in their redevelopment area - Shaker Towne Center - read on and consider how communities working together are better for everyone!
City of Shaker Heights
Dear Resident,
The City of
Shaker Heights welcomes the North Union Farmers Market to Shaker Towne Centre!
The Market is open Saturday mornings through March 19, 2005, from
9 AM to Noon at 16800 Chagrin Blvd (formerly Ohio Savings Bank), east of Lee
Road. There is plenty of free parking behind the building and in surrounding
areas.
To receive
regular messages about products at the market, join the friends of North Union Farmers Market. [1]
Products
this Saturday include: fresh selection of lettuces, dairy products from
Hartzler and Organic Valley Farms, maple syrup, jams, cashew crunch, honey,
garlic, farm-fresh eggs, Meadowview Farms cheeses, winter greens, herbs,
apples, organic grains, mushrooms, specialty baked goods, homemade pies,
tamales and biscotti, root vegetables, beef and pork.
See what's
new at the Artisan Gallery and discover handmade works of art by local artists:
Morning Song Garden, Esperanza Threads, American Button Co. and Lise Anderson's
Jewelry. Bring knives for sharpening.
Support
your local economy with a visit to the indoor winter Farmers Market. Enjoy the
bounty of Ohio produce and products!
Sincerely,
City of Shaker Heights
