This is a great site. Love to see people coming together innovatively and in a community setting like this. I'm running for the U.S. Senate. You can view my blog at http://www.jenniferbrunner.com/index.php/blog [2] I learned about this site on Twitter (http://twitter.com/JenniferBrunner [3]). On FaceBook at http://www.facebook.com/brunnerforsenate [4]. Check out my state office's latest initiative, "Better Lives, Better Ohio" at http://www.sos.state.oh.us/SOS/betterLives.aspx [5]
This is a life quality index that can help tell the story of the people of the State of Ohio. You can check out anything from use of libraries to number of farms for the entire state or by county. Data can be downloaded into an Excel spreadsheet. The index contains data from the year 2001 to present from 18 different state and federal agencies, all in one place! We'd love your comments and suggestions, and you can leave them right on the web site.
What can this be used for?
--to evaluate budget and policy making decisions with real data
--to assist social service agencies and nonprofits with baseline data needed for grant writing
--by chambers of commerce and other development agencies to tell the story of a people of an area to attract new jobs and industry
--by members of the media (traditional and new) to obtain critical data to support information in stories
--by libraries to answer questions from the public
Check it out!
