Texas Governor Rick Perry abruptly removed three members of the Texas Forensic Science Commission yesterday - TWO DAYS before their meeting to look at evidence that an executed man, Cameron Todd Willingham, was innocent.

The new chairman, freshly appointed by Perry, immediately canceled the Willingham meeting.

"This looks an awful lot like a governor who's interfering with a science commission because the science demonstrated that we've executed an innocent person," said Keith Hampton, of the Defense Lawyers Association.

Yes. It sure does. Perry has already said [1] that he believes Cameron Todd Willingham was guilty even if the arson evidence presented at his trial was wrong.
