The bi/tricycle of the future, an enclosed recumbent known as a velomobile [1], has arrived in the USA in form of a space-age looking pod with trunk space as well as hybrid-electric technology that provides electric assist for steep hills and charges from your pedaling motion. The velomobile pictured is the GO-One [2]. Velomobiles enables year round cycling, though it would seem smooth surfaces are preferred. While there are certainly advantages to a traditional upright bicycle, there are also numerous disadvantages.
