The New Jersey Community College Consortium [1]Â
The consortium
offers courses using a provider-host system:
- New Jersey's
community colleges provide (share)
some of their online courses with the consortium. Other colleges
in the consortium can
host these courses - that is, offer these
provided courses to their students as if they were their own. - For students currently enrolled in one of New Jersey's community
colleges, this system allows you to take courses from another college
without the hassle of having to register at that school. Credits
earned this way go directly on your college transcript. Transferring
credits is not necessary. You can also register for NJVCCC courses
directly through your college - the same way and at the same time
you register for other courses. - If you are
not now enrolled in a New Jersey community college, there
are still benefits to taking a course through the consortium. Â NJVCCC
offers a variety of courses in many subjects. All courses
offered through NJVCCC cost $90 per credit no matter where
you live, in-state or out-of-state. All NJVCCC courses are
offered by accredited institutions and can be transferred
to colleges and universities throughout the country. Also,
all NJVCCC courses are offered Online, so you can attend
on you schedule. NJVCCC courses provide come with the "high-touch" services
students you expect from a local community college,
such as tutoring, advisement, and counseling.

the Internet. Students enrolled in NJVCCC courses correspond with
professors via e-mail, bulletin boards, and the World Wide Web.
Online courses require a computer with a graphical user interface
(Mac or Windows), a modem (28.8 kbps or higher), and connection
to an Internet Service Provider (ISP), and students need to know
how to download software from the Internet and install and configure software.

The NJVCCC does not grant degrees.
However, seven New Jersey community colleges offer online degrees.
Atlantic Cape Community College (ACCC)
in Mays Landing, New Jersey, offers online Associate in Arts degrees
in liberal arts, history, business, humanities, psychology, literature
and social science. ACCC offers online Associate in Science degrees
in general studies, computer information systems, and business administration.
ACCC also offers an Associate in Applied Science degree in business
administration and office systems technology. For more information

Brookdale
Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey, offers an online Associate
in Arts in Business Administration. For more information on BCC's

Burlington County College (BCC) in
Pemberton, New Jersey, offers an online Associate in Science degree
in business administration and an online Associate in Arts degree

Mercer County Community College (MCCC)
in Trenton, New Jersey, offers an online Associate in Applied Science
degree in generaI business and an online Associate in Arts degree

Passaic County Community College (PCCC) in Paterson, New Jersey offers
an online Associate in Applied Science degree in Health Information
Technology. The Health Information Technology Program is accredited by
the American Health Information Management Association, and its
graduates are eligible to take the national qualifying examination for
certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
PCCC also offers a Certificate in Medical Coding. For more information

offers an online Associate of Science Degree in Business

SPECIAL
PROGRAMS
All 19 NJVCCC
member community colleges are accredited by the Commission of Higher
Education, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. All
New Jersey community colleges offer credit courses that lead to
various associate degrees. Separate from the NJVCCC, many New Jersey
community colleges offer other distance learning credit and noncredit
courses using television, video, CD-ROM, and radio.
