JEFFERSON PARK IN CLEVELAND, OHIO ROCKED WITH THE NEW NORM BAND -- WITH ANDRADE SCOVIL ON THE DRUMS

On a pleasant summer evening of Thursday, August 19, 2021 – Jefferson Park welcomed the New Norm Band – four players – Joey Hall (lead guitar), Kyle Morrison (bass guitar), Kerry Joe (keyboard), Andrade Scovil (drums) and Esther Fitz (vocalist) as the first three photographs show.

The last photograph shows the band members: left to right: Kyle Morrison, Andrade Scovil, Esther Fitz, Joey Hall, and Kerry Joe.

We all know Andrade Scovil loves Jefferson Park -- you can see him walking around the park in the morning and stopping frequently to stretch himself – as I have been watching him, for many years, from our house on Cooley Avenue – facing Jefferson Park’s south side.

Last evening – Andrade and his band members showed what they can do with music and melodious songs to enthrall a neighborhood audience.

Andrade started playing drums when he was seven years old and continues to play with increasing energy and vigor.

He went to the legendary Shaw High School, on Cleveland’s east side, and marched with their renowned band.

Andrade worked for the USPS (United States Postal Service) for over 30-years before he retired. Prior to that he worked for the UPS. And, of course, he never missed a beat!

Andrade, a long-time resident of West Park, has delivered mail for current mayoral candidates – Ross DiBello and Dennis Kucinich. And when you meet him and tell him your house address -- you will find out if he delivered mail for you. And, if he did -- you can thank him personally!

He enjoys riding his Suzuki motorcycle – gives him an experience like none other.

The New Norm band performed in the 6:00 to 8:00 segment. They were followed by In The Sticks – a good reminder to the audience that they were in the park surrounded by trees.

The free concert series is being presented by Brian Kazy. Ward 16 councilman.

The last concert is scheduled for August 26 (next Thursday) --see attached flyer.

Enjoy the summer!
