CACI Supports the Special Operations Warrior Foundation

CACI is proud to announce its continuing support of our military through the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). The Foundation provides free college scholarship grants, along with financial aid and educational counseling to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps Special Operations personnel killed in training accidents or operational missions. Founded in 1980, the Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

CACI attended and contributed to the Foundation's fund raising event held on October 15, 2007 at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel in Washington, DC. Representing CACI were President and CEO Paul Cofoni, EVP Bert Calland, CACI Wexford Group members SVP Hank Kinnison, VP Peter Arsenault, VP Eldon Bargewell, Technical Executive Director Ronald Russell and CACI Mission Systems Group members SVP Karl Johnson and Senior Director Eli Rosner.
Bert Calland noted, "The Special Operations Warrior Foundation puts nearly every penny of every donation directly towards helping the children of Special Operations Forces who have lost their lives in training or combat. If you want to give, there's no better organization or cause."
And Eli Rosner added, "The evening was a tribute to Special Operations Forces who put their lives on the line for us and our nation, time and time again, and without question. The Foundation ensures that the surviving children of Special Ops heroes who pay the ultimate price are taken care of from an educational perspective - like their parents wished. It was a very humbling experience to spend time with these wounded warriors and preservers of our freedoms. I was proud to be a part of the evening."
The event's guest speakers included two U.S. Army retirees: former Chief of Staff General Peter J. Schoomaker and Black Hawk helicopter pilot Chief Warrant Officer Michael Durant. In 1993 Durant was held prisoner after a raid in Mogadishu, Somalia. Jed Babbin, former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense during the first Bush administration and editor of Human Events, was the Master of Ceremonies.
