Uptown aka Greater University Circle

It was great to have today off --and to do two things I love to do--swim and eat.  I have a CWRU family connection and use of the pool there.  And, I love the days I get to visit the campus and relive the college milieu.

The campus was especially busy today with beautiful fall weather and the streets around the university were abuzz with touristy traffic to attend the Columbus Day parade in Little Italy and the public opening of MOCA Cleveland's new building.  I'll write more about MOCA, later.  I was glad to see the space, but even happier to be able to get a table at Mamma Santa's for their pasta e lenticche and a glass of wine.

After the crush of the parade, I was able to visit the new MOCA building and see all the changes to Euclid Ave. east of Mayfield Rd.  If you haven't seen it yet.  GO.  It is an exciting time for the university and the Little Italy neighborhood.  I will stay positive.  The ride home was  crazy upbeat, too--with the many colors of John Hay Early College students on my train home.  Good looking kids all of them and worthy of a musical video or fashion design shoot :)
