a white cleveland police officer, retired told me he and his partner caused started the hough. riots in cleveland. ohio,-Submitted by Quest-News-Serv... on Tue, 07/21/2009 - 23:57.
a white cleveland police officer, retired told me he and his partner caused started the hough. riots in cleveland. ohio,- he told me he was at east 105th and eucild ave., in a police car, and on duty - he said a car was parked in a no parking area and he asked the driver to move his car - the driver was black -
the driver said he needs a few more minutes because he waiting for his wife and she wasn't feeling well and if he want around the block etc., she might have a seizure and he wouldn't be there -
the officer said he ordered the man to move his car and wasn't senative compasinate which he should have been -
the man got upset and they argued that he wasn't moving his car till his wife comes which will be in a few minutes - as the two officers and the black man argued - passing people stopped and a crowd started to form and the crowd which was black folks - because that was a black area mainly - a few blocks before case western reserve university -
the officer said they over reacted and called for back-up on the radio "officers in danger" "riot" etc., and dozens of police cars came from all over the city and the police covered their badges mostly and the police and the crowd stated fighting and the the rest is history - the socalled riot spilled over into the hough area mainly-
years later this officer was a detective as i recall and retired police lt., and was a martial arts instructor at the police academy - which at that time was hand to hand combat - and throwing the opponent - ( can't spell the martial arts - ju jits su ?)-
i spoke to this very good spirit man hero at the jesuit retreat house on pearl rd., as we attended a weekend retreat about 1974 - and there was about 25 men - we happen to be sitting next to each other-
me coming off covert agent stuff - living with a female and her two kids - which i didn't know that she was an undercover law endorcement investigating me and i felt something wasn't kosher so i wanted to get some spiritual advice-
the officers name is a long spelled italian name and i read an obituary in the plain dealer years ago that he pass over-
we started talking about 6 pm this big burly crew cut man and me long hair hippie type and spoke to about 6 am the next moring-
he told me stories that movies and books are made off - like after he retired because he was thrown so many times teaching self defense that his back gave out and he was in severe pain and got addicted to pain killers and alcohol -
he answered the door bell in his apartment and when he opened the door someone throw gasoline on him and threw a match and he caught on fire and he showed me the scares and when the hospitol employees dropped him and he re-injured his back-
he said the fire was from a pay back from someone he arrested years before-
this great hero police officer did more good than harm - although he felt the guilt of his past - which the truth shall set us free - and he was doing rightous good - "because the more we wrestle with socalled evil the more it wins and the only way to combate evile is to do rightous good"- (i-ching)
he knew i was hurting and being twice my age he told me his stories to make my life easier and to make his life easier-
after the weekend we all departed and i went back to elaines to fine my cloths etc., on the porch - after pleading with her to let me make a phone call i called the good spirit officer and he listen as i spoke about how i'm seeking a higher cousiousness and fine i have no home no lady friend-
what do i do now-
he offered me a german shepard puppy that his great guard dog now that he has - had puppies-
i was so into my pain that i didn't realize that he found that a great other species dog was his answer for unconditional love and he was attempting to communicate this to me and give me the answer - a puppy-
i said no thanks as i was crying tears of the most pain of a broken heart-
but i had glimse of what he was saying about the puppy being the answer-
so i left elaines and a year or so later i received my first puppy "rusto"-
and the hero police officer was-is correct - rusto's story is a great nother story -
yogi is my great helper now-
the moral of my story is - we need many more canine police officers - (and female officers) riding with our male police officers to combate the evil-possesion that may cause harm beyond the circumstances-
one canine officer can brake up a crowd of hundreds and no one gets hurt and no riots - the same for our great police horses -
yogi and guy

I imagine he felt great pain
Amazing story and good conclusion. Lots of other lessons to learn in there, as well.
One lesson is how serious matters can get when people make mistakes.
