Cleveland is celebrating Earth Day's 50th Anniversary! Please join several of Cleveland's conservation organization in a socially distant day of action and learning.

Our Actions

1] Listening and Learning

2] Take The Trail Less Traveled

3] Native Plants

4] Log A Conservation Act

5] Commit to a New Eco-Action

6] Virtual Earth Day with Cleveland Metroparks

LISTENING AND LEARNING with a marathon of over 10 environmental children's book readings: Enjoy childrens books read aloud by Drink Local. Drink Tap. Founder, Erin Huber and Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library Director, Nancy Levin.

TAKE THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED by visiting less-visited trails in Cleveland with West Creek Conservancy: When our favorite walking or hiking locations are visited at uneven rates, it's more difficult to maintain them. Choose a trail you've never visited before:

NATIVE PLANTS April is the month known as Ohio Native Plant Month, Earth Month, and Citizen Science Month. Governor Mike DeWine made Ohio the first state in the country to declare this designation by signing into law House Bill 59 in July 2019. Nature is essential to our personal, local, and global well-being. Check out resources to learn the benefits of native plants, where to purchase them, and how to plant them at &

LOG A CONSERVATION ACT with the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District: Get inspiration for conservation projects & tell us what you accomplish. Log Your Conservation Act:

COMMIT TO A NEW ECO-ACTION: Push yourself into a greener direction by pledging to switch to a more planet-friendly reusable water bottle or opt for using your home silverware when ordering takeout. Choosing to bake your own bread instead of buying it or reusing the fabric from an old pair of jeans to make dishcloths will help keep our planet healthy.

Sustainability Challenges:

Share your swaps by tagging #Waves4Change or @Drink Local. Drink Tap.
