DECEMBER 21 WAS THE FIRST DAY OF WINTER 2O18/2019! CAN SPRING BE FAR BEHIND?

Winter 2018/2019 arrived on Friday (12-21-18) in Cleveland, Ohio.

St. Patrick’s day is on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

Spring will (officially) arrive on Wednesday, March 20.

Even though it was totally overcast on the First Day of Winter, the sun, behind the clouds, rose at 7:50 a.m. and set at 5:00 p.m. giving us a 9-hour and 10 min. long day.

The days will slowly start getting longer – giving us more sunlight (on clear days).

The longest day will occur on Friday, June 21, 2019 -- when we will have a 15-hour and 11-min. long day.

Then the days will start getting shorter – and then longer again -- in an endless dance in a mysterious Universe.

Enjoy the winter. Let us hope it is a mild one.

Note: The photographs show Jefferson Park located on Cleveland’s west side during the first day of Winter of 2018/2019 and during the past Spring of 2018. We all hope the Spring of 2019 arrives soon.
