Waterways into bikeways

Thanks Jeff--this is a real blueprint for green transportation corridors.  Boulder used flood mitigation monies to turn waterways to bikeways.  That option should be used more here in NEO.*

I would like to see the Big Creek watershed become Cleveland's Valmont Bike Park. Not enough people use the towpath for transportation, but it is growing.

Unfortunately, pathetic overall state support for public transportation options and recent route and service cuts to GCRTA has severely undermined local hybrid bus/cycle commuting options.

*(And yes--everyone--I will give credit where credit is due, Congressman Kucinich was instrumental in allocating the funding necessary to help West Creek Preservation Committee dedicate the floodplain at the confluence of West Creek and the Cuyahoga River as parkland.  I can appreciate and still be critical of my representatives...I know that's a hard concept to grasp for some, but absolute worship and blind trust is not part of the democratic process).
