Kirtan Cleveland Newsletter, March 2011 - ~May all beings be happy and free~

Submitted by Quest-News-Serv... on Fri, 03/04/2011 - 00:32.

“Chanting is a significant and mysterious practice. It is the highest nectar, a tonic that fully nourishes our inner being. Chanting opens the heart and makes love flow within us. It releases such intoxicating inner bliss and enthusiastic splendor, that simply through the nectar it generates, we can enter the abode of the Self.”

Kirtan Cleveland Newsletter, March 2011

Dear sisters and brothers of the kirtan:

Spring is on the horizon. The grass is peeking through the snow. The days are getting longer. Mornings are illumined a little earlier. The sun sets a little later.

Let us remember the joy of being alive and welcome the transition from winter to spring.

There are many wonderful kirtan events this month. I want to especially draw your attention to the Mission of Love Healing Fundraiser and Kirtan. This event is Sunday, March 6. The beneficiary is the Mission of Love, a humanitarian organization based out of Youngstown, Ohio with a twenty-year history.

Also note that the monthly Inner Bliss kirtan has moved to The Studio in downtown Cleveland, and it will be at 5:30 as part of the Misison of Love fundraiser.

~May all beings be happy and free~

Blessings,

Beth

(I am quoting/paraphrasing from the Studio 11 website.)

“Beat the Monday blues and come to a community chanting session!  There is no cost for this event but the value is priceless.  No experience necessary.  You will be taught the sound formulas.  Bring a "japa mala" if you have one (if you don't know what they are, google it or ask me for more info).  After 45 minutes of continuous chanting, the entire room (within and without) will be full of positive, healing energy that will remain with you long after you are finished.  People leaving the prior class, please do so as quietly as possible and those arriving early, please remain silent until seated for the mantra meditation session to begin.”

Join Swami Atmarupa and Atmadarshan for this monthly kirtan. Lift your voice and in the process lift your heart!

Also note the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is chanted 108 times EVERY Saturday from 4-4:30 PM. This is a beautiful Shiva chant for healing and victory over death. It’s chanted in Satyananda yoga centers and ashrams around the world on Saturdays. Beforehand you can write the names of anyone who needs healing (either in life or death) in a special book.

Each name is read prior to beginning the chanting. It’s a very powerful experience.

No Monthly kirtan at Jasmine Dragons in Chardon, OH

This kirtan is on hiatus for awhile due to a new baby!
