Scorched Earth "Transformation" PlanSubmitted by lmcshane on Fri, 04/08/2011 - 11:53.
This might explain the recent melt-down witnessed at REALNEO--the ex-poster is an employee of CSU and no doubt benefits from this wonderful CSU perk: Given the lottery system for educating students in Northeast Ohio--families who bankroll the Cleveland Metropolitan School District with their tax dollar might be concerned to learn that their own children take a seat in the BACK of the BUS to those children with parents/or guardians who work at Cleveland State University and/or anywhere in Cuyahoga County (but Cleveland). Copy and pasted here for archive purposes: Campus International SchoolEnroll Your K-2nd Grade Child at No Cost for the 2010-11 School YearCleveland State University is proud to offer an innovative new program to the children of its students and employees – the Campus International School, an on-campus alternative school program internationally recognized for high standards and academic rigor. Part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, the school will incorporate the International Baccalaureate curriculum that focuses on global perspectives and foreign languages, such as Chinese. Campus International School initially will accept 120 students in kindergarten, first and second grades with plans to extend classes to the 12th grade by 2015. Take advantage of this exciting new opportunity before classes are full.

ENROLL your unborn child NOW!
“Campus International affords parents a fabulous educational choice for their children. It’s a viable alternative for those who might otherwise choose a private school or leave the city rather than send their children to a public school,” says principal Julie Beers. In fact, some parents are signing up their unborn children."
Closing a school in your neighborhood??!
Who cares that your child has to ride two buses to get to school, because mom/dad/or caregiver does not have a working car?? Who cares!
Let them eat cake!
VOTE NO on 107
How much is former PD writer Becky Gaylord being paid by CMSD? We know she received $20,000 to pen a bogus report so Tony Brancatelli (who closed South High in his ward) could go to Washington to beg for more federal dollars to demo the entire east side.
If you do Facebook--please join the Say No to the Cleveland School Levy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A 50 percent tax hike for the Cleveland Public Schools? Schools will not improve. We will get poorer.
Do we realize that the school tax levy on November's ballot Is a fifty percent Increase In
The Plain Dealer reported that fact and they support the levy.
In fact the Cleveland schools are in the top 20 of all the over 600 school districts in the state of Ohio in per pupil spending.
Vote NO on Issue 107!
No one...
Then the school system supports judicial system by sending truant parents to juvenile court for whatever charges they can round up! smiles...the industries of NEO...
Good time to look at racist distribution of CSU staff/faculty
Good time to look at the racist distribution of CSU staff and faculty - if we look at the population this school is designed to serve.... staff at CSU... is this a "white" school or a diverse school?
What percentage of CSU staff and employees are white? That should be an easy data point to determine.
That will tell you if the new CMSD leadership is racist or not.
Who can attend??
Who Can Attend: Students K-2nd grade, who are children of CSU employees and students. Other children from throughout Cuyahoga County also will have an opportunity to enroll....
How does this make sense for children of students?
How does this make sense for children of CSU students... they don't live at college?
The hope is a child may start and stay in the same school, where they live - and the family may live a stable life - rather than move kids around and switch schools throughout their educations - school is in long blocks of years - Pre-K, K, 1-6, 7-8, 9-12 or such - neighborhoods should be anchors of the full continuum.
Whereas an adult should be in and out of college in 4 years - grad school in 2 - if full time. If part time, they may be at "college" a few hours a few days a week. So this model says we base a child's long term education on a parent's short term college terms. Especially knowing a small percentage of those who will start at CSU will finish there... and few live near the downtown campus... especially if they have kids
This is for faculty, staff, and downtown workers who want downtown school... perhaps some kids from "the neighborhood" will attend (what is the neighborhood?) - is there anything wrong with having that?
It seems the big bad dysfunctional CMSD will be broken down and rebuilt as dozens if not 100 or so neighborhood and specialty schools able to shift with population flows and societal demand... perhaps subsidized as anchors of development or for other reasons not made public - like Nela Park, Tyler, downtown in general, Ohio City, etc. They won't have unions to tell them to do otherwise.
A neighborhood like Old Brooklyn could well end up having one of the world's best schools - something totally different may pop up in the forgotten triangle.
I doubt well populated, stable neighborhoods will be underserved - but it may be up to the parents in the neighborhoods to define the schools developed around them - recruit a school. Do you want an International or an Intergenerational school?
They will probably all end up being called CMSD.
Visited River, Bay, Avon...childhood memories...oh yeah...
Visited the land of my formative years...the River, Bay, Avon area...of course, it is more gentrified then when I lived there.
But, no doubt, still as messed up as it was when I grew up there...
cheating husbands/wives, teenage pregnancies, bullies, drugs, sex, incest, murders, burglaries...the same problems you find anywhere...only well-camouflaged.
Camouflaging people's lives....
Keeps the psych doctors in business..... particularly when the folks start tripping over everythng that has been "swept under the rug" for so long....
Fresh air in the country.... sounds good today.....
Big BAD Unions--REALLY the RACISM of CMSD|GCP|NPI|Jim Rokakis
Norm--believe, if you will, that this "noblesse oblige" model of restructuring schools without the big, bad unions is going to work.
It may--but is it fair to FUND this EXPERIMENT off the backs of folks who paid taxes in the City of Cleveland--under the moniker DisruptIt--you post a counter argument and I know that you are not necessarily agreeing with the statement:
The hope is a child may start and stay in the same school, where they live - and the family may live a stable life - rather than move kids around and switch schools throughout their educations - school is in long blocks of years - Pre-K, K, 1-6, 7-8, 9-12 or such - neighborhoods should be anchors of the full continuum.
How does the above TRANSFORMATION experiment help families who already OWN their homes outright in the FORGOTTEN TRIANGLE--aka driveway to the Cleveland Clinic--aka playground for real estate investors???
The ANSWER: It doesn't.
This is blatant RACISM and a reconstruction land grab like we have not seen since in America since the Civil War.
From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reconstruction_era_of_the_United_States
Colonization
In August 1862, President Lincoln met with African American leaders and urged them to colonize some place in Central America. Lincoln planned to free the slaves in the Emancipation Proclamation and he was concerned that freedmen would not be well treated in the United States by Whites both in the North and South. Although Lincoln gave assurances that the United States government would support and protect any colonies, the leaders declined the offer of colonization. Many free blacks had been opposed to colonization plans in the past and wanted to remain in the United States. President Lincoln persisted in his colonization plan believing that emancipation and colonization were part of the same program. Lincoln was successful by April, 1863 at sending black colonists to Haiti and 453 to Chiriqui in Central America; however, none of the colonies was able to remain self-sufficient. Frederick Douglass, a prominent 19th century American civil rights activist, criticized that Lincoln was "showing all his inconsistencies, his pride of race and blood, his contempt for Negroes and his canting hypocrisy." African Americans, according to Douglas, wanted citizen rights rather than to be colonized. By the end of 1863 President Lincoln gave up on African American colonization.[37][41][42]
I've explored that question with polluters
I've explored that question with polluters - they believe if there is pollution then people need to move away. As I have gone to great lengths to prove, nobody should live where there is pollution so places like the forgotten triangle are unlivable - they don't need regular schools - people shouldn't live there.
They'll have new mutant schools. They can teach children how to behave when they arrive in prison.
Disrupt IT
Forgotten Triangle IS not UNLIVEABLE
Afterall--the Greater Cleveland Partnership folks would have the entire area "transformed" into a garden oasis of food production....
Is it fair to FUND this EXPERIMENT off the backs of folks who paid taxes in the City of Cleveland?
industrial farms are unlivable... It seems food may grow in hell
Industrial farms are unlivable - full of toxic chemicals, with nameless migrant workers coming and going like ants, poisoned and dying in far-off holes. It seems food may grow in hell.
Disrupt IT
Old Money vs. No Money
It's pretty obvious that old money in NEO, can no longer afford the high cost of boarding schools and private academies for their youngsters...so we bleed the taxpayers of the inner city to educate the old money families who are losing their old money...and with SB5 we are going to make it impossible for union teachers in pricey suburbs like Beachwood, Solon, Bay Village etc. to LIVE and raise their kids...
Meanwhile, poor Khalid, who loves to collect rocks--where does he go to school???
Should Mom move again...?
Is it so hard to hold adminstrators of our school districts accountable to taxpayers???
And, to have standards at EVERY school to assure that students are not deprived of a good education by disruptive kids and their disruptive parents? Look to the adminstrators and you will understand why a district is failing:
