Should our children be "EXPECTED" to do these things before they graduate high school?

The kids of tomorrow....what's your opinion?

What do you think should be required of today's students as part of their high school educational requirements to graduate? Why?

we also need to remember

There are many home-schooled now a days too. The programs like girl scouts and boy scouts and others do teach  some of those  things as well.

I was a member of the rainbow girls, the church groups that did good deeds, so no, I dont think the schools need to 'teach' this stuff.

Other outside 'events' can do this,except for the 'Civic" agenda, I think yes, that should really be taught much more in public schools. And yes on the others too, (so one answer does not cover it all)  and really need more 'banking' and teaching kids how to handle money- that is where their future will be.  is one vid telling of future and some really amazing predictions.

All good, but, where is the band- smile?? Marching band was a blast in school.

(in arts?) Betty

The problem is, America is NOT a Democracy - it is a Republic! As our Founding Fathers established, can we keep it?

Band = arts...

Oops...sounds good to me...choir, dance and drama too.

It should be their choice...but shouldn't they have to choose...

from a list of extra curriculars and should they ultimately become "requirements" to graduate?

FYI: Government is saved for senior year and Cleveland Public Schools have had an ugly drop out rate before the senior year which resulted in countless citizens locally having NO CLUE about GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS IN GENERAL.....I don't have ability to link statistics for CMSD...but does anyone here think that they should make the course "GOVERNMENT" a FRESHMAN REQUIREMENT? (9th Grade)...
