Cleveland Foodnotbombs Group Statement to the West Side Cleveland Foodnotbombs :

Submitted by Glowbawl on Sun, 03/06/2011 - 08:56.

Cleveland Foodnotbombs regrets that as a group, we will not be serving on Public Square this Sunday and it might take as long as one month until we are able to return to regular food distribution. During this time we will also not be distributing food within the shelters. This will be an unprecedented break of serving for the group but it is necessary so that we can reestablish our donation supplies of food to distribute and move into a new kitchen location. Cleveland Foodnotbombs has been serving consistently at Roadway and Superior for almost the last year, every Sunday between 5 and 7pm. This winter was especially difficult because of a lack of resources to distribute, let alone the inhospitable weather.

A proper place in the community

Please is a request for everyone to try and make sure there is a respectful comfort zone for all of the people in the community. Much of the ragtag cut'em up search them out diatribe that gets posted to this site has a very real destructive counterside. Yeah, I know I said this before, but it's gotten much worse and more spiteful. Now it may not effect you directly or immediately but it does often become a dig into somebody else. Somewhere down the road we all have interactive connections and old frayed ends diminish everyone's ability to move ahead.

Ok, I'm willing to try and straighten this out, let's have a go at it

ok I think that there's a glitch somewhere in the software at Realneo. It just came up recently but it got ahold of the sites inner mechanism. First there were these little hiccup attacks, bullying and blatant dragging of people's names thru the mud and that was very troubling.

Flag Wars, recent documentary I stumbled upon...

1st post here...

I got a copy of this documentary and figured I'd let folks know it exists.

Flag Wars
Linda Goode Bryant
Year 2003

Focus is on a Columbus neighborhood, and it's fairly akin to Tremont, East Cleveland, or Ohio City issues. I found this movie to be interesting but I wouldn't go as far as the review below and say it's great. It did have a bunch of neighbors who really grated on one another though, hence there were some lively realizations of homophobia and racism brewing.
