Love of the Game

Time for Cleveland to revisit George Carlin's classic routine Baseball vs. Football.

No one epitomizes love of the game and the larger life metaphors than Kenny Lofton.
I am sending my Manny Ramirez rookie card back to my sports writer friend in Chicago.
Thank you, Kenny, for being an inspiration to so many kids by being an eternal kid.

End of the world?

I hate the grotesque Wahoo caricature, too, Jeff, but I don't hate the game.  Cleveland has a lot of dead weight to unload. Chief Wahoo is racist and must go, but the idea of tribe and even the moniker Indians shouldn't insult anyone.  In any case,  I still love the game.
I coached softball for kids k-12 years old in Tremont during the nineties.  It was incredibly stressful for me (everything is), but it was worth it to watch kids fly across the bases and support each other.  During that time, Kenny Lofton supported many baseball clinics in Cleveland.  Hence, my love for Kenny.  I also favored Manny, but I continue to find him an enigma.  He was like the dyslexic kid of the bunch.  I swear he was daydreaming, DAYDREAMING most of the time...and yet, from his mouth, I can understand his own peculiar wisdom.

"Why should we panic? We've got a great team. ... It doesn't happen, so who cares? There's always next year. It's not like it's the end of the world. "
