An annual tradition sponsored by Great Lakes Brewery and several other local foundations and organizations is the Burning River Fest. This event combines great and healthy food, local entertainment and vendors, local environmental conservation and advocacy groups, and of course, a selection of one of the world's most famous beers.
Read more about this event and its importance to economic development on this recent blog post , and come support a great cause!

and the presale price is oh so low
If you go… you might want to purchase your ticket early. http://www.burningriverfest.org/ or wait and pay the extra $2. If you have never been to Whiskey Island, you have missed out on one of the most beautiful lakeside parks in the region. One of the most common questions I hear is, "Where the heck is Whiskey Island anyway?" Well if you go to Edgewater make a hard right (or go east) if you're coming from the Shoreway and hug the right-hand side road traveling east past the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The road is narrow here with dense vegetation; just keep going for a wonderful surprise. The island is 22 acres, so there is plenty of room for you and your family and friends. Here's a map http://www.burningriverfest.org/directions.html
Don't forget your sunscreen! See you there!
