Admin has just become aware of a frustrating problem with Mollom running behind Realneo - Apologies are in order

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 10/28/2013 - 11:12.

Yesterday Admin was contacted by a Realneo user who was having problems posting to their blog on REalneo.

The user kept getting the message :

"Your submission has triggered the installed spam filter and will not be accepted."

In looking over the spam logs for Realneo, Admin found that the mollom spam filtering software which runs behind the surface of realneo has been interfering with the posts of a number of Realneo users.

Admin was under the incorrect impression that once a Realneo user was authenticated - entering the captcha required by mollom on the new user page - that mollom did not continue to "filter" the authenticated user's content for spam.

In fact, mollom does continue to check for spam in authenticated user's comments, polls, blogs, etc.

Admin intends to resolve - stop - the mollom module from filtering authenticated users content.

Thanks for your patience.    Thanks also to the Realneo user who took the time to bring this problem to Admin's attention and to point Admin in the right direction towards resolution.

Jeff, for Admin.
