Corporation as person: Making world safer for pirates?

I've long been troubled by the fact that corporations are endowed the rights of "natural persons." It is unjust to human beings who are not corporate officers that a corporation can absorb responsibility for the actions of individuals who are corporate offices. Correct me if I'm incorrect on this. My understanding is that the personal liability of individuals in corporate leadership is covered by the corporation in many cases.

One acclaimed book about this is by Thom Hartmann:  "Unequal Protection: The Rise of Corporate Dominance and the Theft of Human Rights," which I have yet to read.

Corporate = Mob

Thank you for this post Lee.  I called Clint O'Connor at the PD after the "Kill the Irishman" story ran, because of the history of the mob in Cleveland and now how the mob has infiltrated our government to the top eschelons.

It's such a bad movie.  First, you look to the folks you should be able to trust the most--your community helpers.  Attorneys, doctors, educators, the police, the press...clergy and politicians.  All just a veneer for the craps game and the skimming we live with here in NEO.

It is interesting to note that La Cosa Nostra got a foot hold in Murray Hill with the newspaper circulation wars in 1913.  Read Mob Nemesis--this bad movie never changes.  It just gets new actors.
