The image above depicts the Allie's trenches (red) and the German trenches (blue) at the end of World War I in France. The trenches were aerially photographed during the war and recently each of hundreds of photographs were given GIS points and collated into a map which combined over 300 individual maps.  (Exhibit at Harvard's Pusey Library through Nov. 11).

My take away is that we were crazy, insane, nuts, sicko in the war between 1914 and 1918.

What has changed?

I bet nothing...

We must be doing the same  crazy, insane, nuts, sicko stuff today but we just don't recognize it yet.

What is it today that we are doing as crazy as trenching in WWI?

I wonder if we will ever have chance to look back and say - what were we thinking??

THE WORST IDEA EVER!

Internal Combustion Engine.

---------------------------------------

That's what we will say in just a few years.

Anything that moves and has an exhaust pipe is EVIL. BAD. KILLING US

The absolutely worst invention is the internal combustion engine.

That's my prediction.
