Who will you vote for in the Nov 2013 race for Cleveland Mayor? What do you want as citizens?Submitted by ANGELnWard14 on Thu, 03/22/2012 - 09:59.
Lessons learned only mean something if CHANGE is effectuated to prevent the same mistakes in the future..... Who do you believe is capable of transforming Cleveland's (underground) politics beginning in 2014? Do we have anymore "ED FITZGERALD" types who have been FBI guys that are willing to take on the unethical regime at City Hall? Do we have any citizen groups willing to disrupt politics as usual in Cleveland City Hall? Are we going to spend the next 5 years or so with the same old politics as usual or are we going to disrupt it like was done with the Charter changes of Cuyahoga County? Which citizens are fighting to transform the "HOME RULE" of Cleveland which has used CDBG Funds for over 36 years to implode our city? Which citizens give a crap about the educational system that has been neglected and abused over the last few generations? Which citizens are willing to fight the regime to transform the future of Cleveland? Who would provide more transparency and interactive government for our citizens? Which old school politicians are willing to go away (like Michael White) and leave our city before they are indicted for their crimes upon our community? Who has the balls to step up and TRULY go against the regime? Candidates are no longer a dime a dozen... good people willing to speak the truth, eradicate the violators, and revitalize the trust of public at large are few and far between.... Where do we find a politician who doesn't do this for the paycheck? Candidates will need lots of signatures; lots of support, and even more public support....how will we inspire a true resident of Cleveland with this kind of all american spirit to represent our residents? The RACE FOR THE CLEVELAND MAYOR 2014-2018 is on.... The election campaign will begin in 2013 and the primaries will dictate candidates. Will our youth partake in this political process? Will teachers inspire kids to get out there and hit the ground running supporting viable candidates? Will the parents make time to vote? Lots of questions.... just asking...... btw is Cleveland ready for a REPUBLICAN MAYOR? Smiles.

Gerrymandering 2013.....What will the maps look like?
So, Cleveland City Council slid through the council seat reductions required after the 2010 Census because they literally changed the law by getting citizens to vote to sustain (UNSUSTAINABLE) positions....based on factual numbers of population etc....
What will happen when they are required to do more map drawings to redistrict the WARDS in Cleveland come the next election? Who will get merged, cut, etc? What new neighborhood will you be a part of in 2013?
Just curious.... (I mean, Ward 14 has been lost to both Ohio City and Tremont by and through countless changes in the last decades....what will occur in the next election cycle via demographic changes to the voting maps?)
