National Library Week: CPL Annual Book Bee (alternates with Sugarman) Sponsor: Established Borders

Do you know a fourth grade child that is constantly reminding you that i comes before e, except after c? Have you found yourself conversing with  an eighth grader who holder the gift to poetically produce the perfect prose? Be a guiding light and encourage that child to register for Cleveland Public Library's Annual Spelling Bee competition for students in grades 3-5 and 6-8. Where: Louis Stokes Wing Auditorium on the corner of East 6th & Superior Avenue
   
Who: Finalists from each branch, site coaches and coordinators, interested parents, and community.
   
What: Oral competition at each grade level with multiple rounds of increasing difficulty resulting in a winner and several runners-up who will go on to county competition.
   
Why: Promote interest in spelling; celebrate excellence in the written word.
