DAFFODILS FOR IRAQ
Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 03/26/2008 - 22:37.
Every spring daffodils announce renewal…the earth has been dormant during winter but is coming alive as the sun moves towards our northern axis.
There is no comparable renewal for the young people - born here or born elsewhere - killed in politically staged wars. Not in my life time for those killed in Korea, or Vietnam, nor for those killed more recently in Iraq.
Though, perhaps this spring, 5 years after we “liberated” Iraq, a renewal of our citizens’ voices for peace will spring up…will the flowers bloom?

Flowers?
Where did you take this photo Jeff! Are you cheating (?!) Jim Votava headed over to Foote's Greenhouse on Canal Rd. in Valley View for a preview of the garden season (Whoops-I mean last year, but so what--who doesn't like looking at flowers (?!). Nice overview of our rose options. And Foote is a name you can trust in gardening. The family has been here FOREVER!
I have to not think about the other side
I am not ignoring the painful part of this post. It's just too much for me right now. I wish I could make people see life not death, but who am I?
