Economy ideas generated from brainstorming at the Palace - Nov. 1, 2005

Over a period of roundtable "world cafe" discussions, participants at
the Storm the Palace table wrote the following summary ideas on a flip
chart or post-it to the idea wall - each idea is being posted to the
"Community Forums: Economy" on REALNEO focused on this category... read on:
Economy
- How can we communicate the idea of Cleveland as an exciting city full of potential for those that are progressive thinkers and interested in beginning a change? New York and LA are too easy, Cleveland is an exciting Challenge - David Jurca
- All things tech, creative and visionary - Mdeloia [at] city [dot] cleveland [dot] oh [dot] us
- Continued re-tooling of manufacturing base is a necessity
- Attract more foreign investment
- Smart, sustainable emphasis on watersheds, build out from core resources
- Can-Do attitude (positive mental attitude)
- Reinvent government – less divisive
- Government should be regional
- How do you get suburbs to agree to be regional
- People need to realize they can improve
- We need Cleveland to be a ‘Magnet City’ . to be attractive to those who will improve it
- Stimulate and support entrepreneurship – provide any needed resources for the risk taker
- connect great ideas and IP to funding agents (VC, angels, foundations, corporations)
- A more Creative Government
- Have many different events in Metroparks: all the time!
- Assets are already here: we don’t leverage our advantage
- Can-Do Attitude
