Inner Circle to Become Dress Circle as Excellence Roundtable Features Cleveland Orchestra Violist Eliesha NelsonSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 06/05/2007 - 23:33.
06/15/2007 - 11:00 06/15/2007 - 15:00 Etc/GMT-4 With this June 15, 2007, Inner Circle Open House, it is safe to say the NEO Excellence Roundtables are back, as this week we will feature a very unique discussion and performance by Cleveland Orchestra violist Eliesha Nelson, who is in the middle of a sophisticated recording project at George Lucas' Skywalker Sound, in Marin, California. Eliesha will discuss with us how she decided to get into the "recording business" and how the community can help her project succeed - and the purpose of this roundtable is to help Eliesha's project succeed. The recording she is creating, Quincy Porter: The Complete Viola Works, is an effort to expose listeners to the modern classical music of Quincy Porter and to preserve the invaluable musical heritage of one of America's greatest composers, who was associated with the Cleveland Institute of Music, in the 1920s. Those who attend this roundtable will have an exclusive opportunity to hear Eliesha perform some solo works from this recording, in a most intimate and unique setting. The Inner Circle will open at 11 AM. Until noon, we'll offer coffee and tours of the Hough Bakeries complex, and present plans for the property and surrounding neighborhood. There will be a buffet lunch available from noon until one - we will ask anyone having lunch to contribute $7 toward food and service. The food will be provided by Hot Sauce Williams, which owns the complex and maintains a commercial kitchen there... the food will include BBQ and be excellent. Please RSVP if you will join us for lunch. During lunch, Eliesha will introduce us to her recording project. After lunch, she will perform some works from Quincy Porter: The Complete Viola Works. Eliesha will then hang around the Inner Circle for part of the afternoon, guest-DJing some of her favorite music selections, so plan to stick around after lunch, or stop in later if you can't make lunch. We want to introduce as many people as possible to Eliesha's project, and all our plans for East Cleveland, so please plan to join us for this cool event.
