Recently, Policy Bridge released its first report on the lost potential of African American men in our region. Here's an idea to keep this idea moving forward: Conduct a seminar or workshop on the best practices for creating wealth in inner city neighborhoods.
Civic leaders in North Carolina recently held a day-long session: “Minority Entrepreneurship –An Essential Community Economic Development Strategy". Read more.
A lot has been happening that we as a region need to learn.
We could use this session to learn more about the activities of the Institute for a Competitive Inner City.

In October, the Ford Foundation held a roundtable on Regional Economic Development and Low Income Communities. You can also download these presentations form the same web site.
Makes sense - good for CAAO
There are many organizations in Northeast Ohio focused on developing opportunities for African Americans, like the Consortium of African American Organizations (CAAO) - http://www.caao.net/home.asp. I would think they'd support this idea and be the organizers. I'll point them this way.
