Naomi Klein @ Mother Jones - The highlight of my first day at COP15 was a conversation with the extraordinary Nigerian poet and activist Nnimmo Bassey, chair of Friends of the Earth International. We talked about the fact that some of the toughest activists here still pull their punches when it comes to Obama, even as his climate team works tirelessly to do away with the Kyoto Protocol, replacing it with much weaker piecemeal targets.

If George W. Bush had pulled some of the things Obama has done here, he would have been burned in effigy on the steps of the convention center. With Obama, however, even the most timid actions are greeted as historic breakthroughs, or at least a good start.

"New Movement Alliances"

yeah - ask south and central america how tHAt's going form tHEm... even with Obama at the helm, they are being tripped and undermined every chance we get. "Our" power has a sinister evilness that is unparalled...

But - it really isn't our power - is it, Eternity?

America and the West...

...are being found out.

The Africans are getting fed up, as are the Latins and Asians.

And in time, others who share the views of Naomi Klein, Cynthia McKinney, President Carter, Cornel West and Michael Moore will eventually wake up--saying goodbye to their juvenile, overindulgent, celebrity idol worship of Obama, the faux-liberal, political Pop God--to face the cruel reality of their deep denial(s).
