A life TakenSubmitted by savcash on Mon, 04/18/2011 - 01:31.
When there is a death, it is possible it comes in one of many ways. Often at the hand of others, or self inflicted, or by medical reasons, or by chance. IMO the death of a loved one that is by Suicide ---snip-- U.S. Suicide Statistics (2001)Emergency Room Visits
All suicides
Firearm Suicides
Suffocation Suicides
Poisoning Suicides
http://www.suicide.org/suicide-statistics.html Rate Per Number Per Day 100,000 % of Deaths Elderly (65+ yrs.) .5,393..........14.8.........15.3..........0.3 Young (15-24 yrs.)..3,971..........10.9..........9.9.........12.3
has to be, in my mind, the death of a loved one who is a son or daughter that has taken their own life, for whatever reason, that death would be the hardest for the rest of the family and loved ones to cope with. I found a man who lost his teenage son, and he started a group, wrote a book and travels to inform others. Mighty nice man thru emails--copy-- [Mark Canfora Ministries was established] ...[ The ministry has evolved into several outreach ministries listed at: www.IveGotHope.com ] and his website also is [//] I am no expert on suicide, but Mark is. He is also a speaker, if you know of any group that might need him, he has also written a book, and the first three chapters are online, (link above) which I found very well written and heartbreaking. No easy answers here, just thought this was well worth sharing and some might wish to look at it. Betty

Thats alot of children to die with guns
Thats alot of children to die with guns makes you think maybe we shouldn't have so many or atleast not in our homes with our children. I had no idea I thought drugs or car accidents killed more children. Thats so sad and thats why I tell my neice not to keep any guns.
children deaths by suicide is approx. 10 a day across USA
across the USA. If you notice, most children don't die with guns, and this young man did not either.
I am going to keep this to the topic of suicide as I invited the father here in case he would like to say something.
Thanks, Betty
The problem is, America is NOT a Democracy - it is a Republic! As our Founding Fathers established, can we keep it?
Oh than I read that wrong
Oh than I read that wrong I thought it said the suicides by guns were the highest of them all and I thought the poison suicides were drugs. the suffocating ones I don't know what that is about, but the gun ones I can't help but think those could be prevented.
when u put children in it
as the highest, u made it wrong. The overall numbers were not about kids, but on the whole, all those who took their own life. The last 2 figures were about elders and children who did. If you visit the site linked, you would understand more I think. Betty
