Protecting your babies

For a bird it's about location--building the right nest to avoid the CAT,
and the elements, and, most of all-- to get away from that pesky squirrel.

Photo taken of squirrel before savage lunge occurred!

They look so innocent, once they get what they WANT!--I have yet to capture their peculiar tail waving/spraying routine...but they leave little surprises for me all over the deck.  The raccons are another story.  Marauders.  They knock things over and make a racket all night.
