Point of View reporter Roldo Bartimole reflects on the past threats to the continued public ownership of the Cleveland Public School Building, and gives us a heads up here in the Cleveland Leader

Good to see Roldo back in print.  Thanks realneo user for bringing this to my attention.

Roldo speaks again

This is a nice piece of news, Roldo in print. After taking a year to focus on writing about his experiences of decades of reporting, he speaks publicly again on a current issue.  One of the beauties of Roldo is the depth of knowledge and detail, and knowing who did what when, why and with whom, in the local government. I hope that he contributes regularly to the Cleveland Leader again. Cleveland needs the voice of Roldo.

Roldo knew where Raskind was going-CMSD sells downtown building

Dirty Dealer today quietly reports :"Raskind will now press ahead with attempts to sell the school system's headquarters, a six-story neoclassical structure completed in 1931.

The building, which Raskind says needs extensive repairs, is across St. Clair Avenue from the construction site of the new medical mart. Experts foresee developers converting it into a hotel.

Raskind said he could ask the board to put the building on the market next month. If a sale goes through, the district would move its offices to rented space in a soft downtown market or retrofit a closed school."

Roldo made a lot of predictions

Roldo made a lot of predictions over the years, and he was usually on target.

Hopefully, CMSD will use it assets wisely...besides...

..there's no room for kids, families, and administrators in downtown Cleveland with all that development.... Why not force them to be more accessible to the families by moving to a centrally located school? Are those big wigs too good to work in one of the ghetto hoods of our city? Maybe when they get their feet wet...they'll begin to have better results...
