WHERE DID ALL THE SNOW GO? CAN SPRING BE FAR BEHIND?

Friday, December 11, 2020 was another nice autumn day.

When I got up in the morning – and looked out of our second-floor window at Jefferson Park – I was pleasantly surprised to find that the snow had all melted away. I grabbed my camera. The first photograph shows what I saw.

To confirm the disappearance of snow, I rushed to the attic and again saw that there was no trace of snow in the park as the second photograph shows.

Well, it took over 10 days for the late autumn sun to melt the 5 to 6 inches of wet snow that fell on December 1 – as the insets in the two photographs show.

Today, the temperature hit an unseasonable high of 58 deg. F.

With the snow all gone – and the park restored to its lush green state – I started looking ahead.

With December already on its way – it will pass very soon.

We just have to put up with 31 days of January in 2021.

The month of February does not count – it’s a short month.

And when March comes roaring in – it will be time for the rapid blossoming of spring flowers.

In the mean time, have a pleasant weekend!
