Ward 13 Council Representative Kris Harsh should face a recall given he spends Casino dollars like kickbacks to "his" CDC Old Brooklyn ($70K for another rebranding).

And his buddy Kerry McCormack wants to pay CDCs out of the City of Cleveland General Fund.  Sharpen your claws people - Get RID of these councillors and their UNITY Rule.

McCormack previously suggested “swapping funding sources” — moving from using community development block grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide for CDC operations to using funds directly from the city of Cleveland’s general fund.

“The federal funding through HUD has a level of vague guidelines that determine how they can be used,” McCormack said. “Using them limits the scope of what they can do and means a ton of compliance paperwork that creates a big challenge for the CDCs.”

Moving to a different funding mechanism could help those dollars go further, he added. The measure stalled before council went on summer break, but McCormack plans to bring it up again as members reconvene this month.

The debate will take place in Public Hall’s Little Theater, which seats up to 600 people. Entrance will be free and seating will be first-come-first-served. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. before the debate starts at 6 p.m.

Kris Harsh - who was endorsed by Brian Cummins, Jim Rokakis and Kevin Kelley - just passed legislation to GIVE $2.5M to "his" CDC - Old Brooklyn Development Corporation:

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE Authorizing the Director of Economic Development to enter into a grant agreement with Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation to provide economic development assistance to partially finance the Memphis and Pearl mixed-use neighborhood project located on Memphis and Pearl Roads in Ward 13.
