Cleveland Schools: A New Beginning?

Submitted by ralphnadir on Thu, 08/26/2010 - 18:52.

I have been critical of Dr. Sanders in the past; but I think there might be more to this "Transformation" than I originally believed. Unfortunately, Sanders did himself no good by appearing aloof and unwilling to collaborate. After seeing him today at East Tech, I think he may have finally figured it out. While I have some reservations about the plan still, I have seen some features which may yield some fruit; actually, having been more thought out than the previous Small Schools "academies," which were mostly ineffective.

CMSD COO Dan Burns Convicted

Submitted by ralphnadir on Thu, 06/17/2010 - 17:44.

It came as no surprise that Dan Burns was convicted. What is a little puzzling, is whether or not Burns was questioned about Dr. Sanders and the possibility of his involvement. Notice in the article above that the Lucas County (Toledo) Prosecutor was on hand, presumably doing his homework for the upcoming trial of Dan Burns in Toledo.

PD Gives Ringing Endorsement to Sanders and Transformation Plan

Not unexpectedly, the PD has given a ringing endorsement to Dr. Eugene Sanders and his Transformation Plan in today's editorial section.

Some of my comments on this from cleveland.com:

<Not every thing wrong with Cleveland schools is the fault of Dr. Sanders. There are some positive, constructive aspects of the Transformation Plan, too.
