Mold and other Major Defects in NEO

Sutton Builders and Keith Sutton are developers in Tremont, Cleveland, Ohio.   This sign, hanging on one of the Sutton developed townhouses, is visible from I90.  It would be interesting to hear both sides of this mold story.   Photo credit dbra from over here on Realneo.

Hello LAURA,   This image is one I bet you are in agreement with: a Graffiti "tag" which  advocates a good public policy. What other "tag" words could it be argued  were  provided as a public service announcement?

This image is on the Cuyagoga side of the W14th Cold Storage warehouse power plant.   I bet it can be read from Downtown Cleveland.

Flats Industrial Rail Road

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 08/18/2009 - 08:50.
Flats Industrial Rail Road

The Flats Industrial Rail Road has a couple of locos.   This one is usually parked off Columbus Road adjacent to the beautifully rusted lift bridge (which seems out of service).   These little locomotives push and pull rail cars of hard red winter wheat/flour and cement, etc to and fro from the bulk storage silos along the Cuyahoga River.  This part of Cleveland is still working - just as it did 100 years ago.

community is key Morgana Run under E55

On the community garden Urban Harvest 15 mile bike ride we went under E55 on an old RR right of way which has been made a bike trail.  Graffiti isn't sponsored by the CDCs, but there was still some positive imagery on the abutments under the bridge.  The murals under the bridge are feel good propaganda, but the sentiment is OK, so I'll commit it to a header.

Waste not, Want not. Carnegie Medical Building Interrupted

The Cleveland Clinic continues its decades long emphasis on sterilization.  Today the demolition of the Carnegie Medical Building left this class room - with its drapes, chairs, and tables - a bit interrupted.

Every day there is a plant with the perfect color for that day.  Spring, summer, fall and winter.

How does Mother Nature do it?

Tomorrow, it will be another color, and perfect!

Free Food Grows In Cleveland

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Sat, 08/08/2009 - 11:28.

While I was sitting behind Food On The Move, at St. Clair and East 140th, where a friend works, I noticed a pear tree in the lot next door, full of rippening pears. While the lot is well tended, and does not appear "vacant", the lone pear tree is the only occupant. And nobody seems to notice it is there, despite its bounty of free food. There are 100s of pears on the tree - in a market, they would be worth $100s. This lot could contain dozens of pear trees - perhaps 100s - producing $10,000s in income for the owners and those who tended them.

Everyone wants one - A Bomb

This image is a mash up of this Google Image.  What are we humans doing now which is as stupid as the atmospheric testing of nukes back in the middle of the last century?   Is it global warming? and/or something else which is totally off our radar?

Mark E. Howard mural (2000) on E55 north of Quincy

This mural is over 150 long, is on a two story stucco building (a church?) and can be seen if you are driving towards Lake Erie on E55 in Cleveland, Ohio.   I keep my eye out for this long and lean type of colorful stuff, because these dimensions make easy banners for Realneo.  Slowly, all these works will also be catalogued here.

Question: how is this paint on a wall any different from HEK/MEK public work?

Caring about your natural environment requires connection to it.

The stewardship of the spectactular fresh water five Great Lakes must be the primary responsibility of the Lake's immediate geographically connected neighbors - In learning to sail, these Torontonians  will perhaps have a stronger association with the Lakes, and be more apt to recognizeany  abuse and to pitch in to stop pollution and miss-use.

Cyberterrorism, Cyberstalking, Cyberharassment, Cyberbullying and Blackheart Cleveland

I believe the actions of "Blackheart Cleveland" as an association and some "members" individually consititute some variation of Cyberterrorism, Cyberstalking, Cyberharassment, and/or Cyberbullying. It appears Blackheart Cleveland exists to disrupt the business of REAL COOP and attack REALNEO members personally, to cause personal and financial harm to members. I believe this is illegal.

An East Cleveland Ward 2 Reality Story. Don't Think This Insanity Will Stop In The Ghetto.

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 07/19/2009 - 04:55.

Late on the 4th of July, there was a big fight in my neighborhood. Thankfully, I wasn't there. A friend who was there described it as around 100 people - some from East Cleveland and some from Cleveland - who just plain wanted to fight. No gang or drug issues - no girl in the middle - just a bunch of people so stressed and freaked out by life that they needed to pound somebody. On that night, those folks settled for pounding each other, and little harm was caused.

Tale of Two Clevelands

Tale of Two Clevelands

There are certainly places in Cleveland where people very much enjoy our greatest natural resource, Lake Erie. To the East or West, rich or poor, it offers pleasures and potential, as filthy as it may be and shall remain.

Do the Port Authority and their planners from New York City have a clue what is the potential of our Great Lake and lakefront? Have you seen any good plans?

Are we doing anything close to what we should to protect the environment of Lake Erie? Is this the Bluest Lake possible, for this brightest greenest place?
