RealNEO HeaderTonight's The Night: How Real Fans May Enhance Musicians' Power In The New EconomySubmitted by Norm Roulet on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 01:06.
No doubt one of my favorite artists ever is Neil Young - one of the greats I've never seen. So, I greatly appreciated finding relatively recent live video footage of him performing one of my favorite songs ever - "Tonight's the Night" - in Birmingham, England, sounding better than ever. I love this version, even with audio flaws and crowd noise present. Neil Young never sounded better! Unbelievable - I am going to find a way to see him before I die, now. Thank you Claude06890 - The Ropey Old Pirate Show on YouTube - based in Birmingham, for making this experience possible, by paying to attend this Neil Young concert in England, recording it on a simple video device, and sharing it with the world... along with 6 other Neil Young video clips, now viewed a total of over 60,000 times around the world... along with the 300+ other great, original concert clips you have provided the world, from Birmingham - sharing over 2 years of your musical experiences with us here, in real NEO. I couldn't afford the airfare, so no harm done to Neil Young, for sure. That is the power of the internet working for a musician.

Why realNEO Really Matters, and Always Will: 11,320 page titles were viewed a total of 865,730 times last yearSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 03/01/2010 - 04:50.
Several trolls on realNEO have been planting insults here that "realNEO doesn't matter"... which is wrong. All realNEO members should take offense. The beauty of realNEO is that last year people in nearly every country in the world looked at 11,430 DIFFERENT pages, a total of 865,730 times. Most of those pages were created right here in Northeast Ohio - all were created by common realNEOans... 100s of us... over more than 5 years.

To Save People The Bother of Attacking MeSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 02/28/2010 - 21:12.
I'll be brief. I co-founded realNEO in 2004 because Northeast Ohio needs realNEO - the world needs realNEO. It is entirely different from any other "social network" or content management system on Earth, building upon the ICEarth co-op conceptual framework. I developed the ICEarth (Internet/Information Community Earth) conceptual framework in global collaboration, in the late 1990's, and founded ICEarth LLC, in 2002, to build the co-op data warehousing and serving platform for the ICEarth conceptual framework. We have built specialised hardware for ICEarth, running specialised open source software, all developed to unique specifications. Initial testing of the hardware and software configurations exceeds expectations.

This Android Keeps Freaking Me Out - Is Google Imprisoning Me, or Setting Me Free?Submitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 02/22/2010 - 23:58.
My Nexus One Google Smart/Super Phone keeps freaking me out. Sunday, I entered an address into the map feature to get directions to somewhere in Painesville. A few G3+wifi+1 Gh+HD moments later... bingo. Turn by turn - map with arrows - click on the stick figure and you have streetview photo panoramas that are amazing. Click another button and BETA - Google Navigation - a lady says "Drive 1000 feet to Euclid and turn right."

realNEO visitors have probably noticed the "Who's Online/Online Users" block in the left-hand column of the REALNEO.US homepage, indicating the people who are online and logged in at realNEO at a particular time. Ever wonder about all those people, always on realNEO... who they are, where they are, and why they are visiting here...?

Time To Start Organizing realNEO for Software Freedom Day 2010 - IT's the Year Of The Penguin real NEOSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Wed, 02/17/2010 - 01:35.
09/18/2010 - 01:00 Etc/GMT-5 I attended an excellent Software Freedom Day event in Toronto in 2006, which I introduced on REALNEO here, and covered on REALNEO here - I actually needed a copy of Ubuntu that day, so it came in very handy. I'd like to see Northeast Ohio celebrate Software Freedom Day 2010 in a BIG WAY - Saturday, September 18 - and follow the model I saw in use in Toronto, which included active, friendly engagement on a busy street, with workshops and light training/Q&A offered inside a receptive place. Of course, the Linux Penguin was out-front to draw attention to the event... we definitely need a penguin. ( categories: )

I'm Proud My Wife Has Been A Great Role Model To 10,000+ People Considering ChildbirthSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 02/14/2010 - 10:48.
It has been exciting to watch, over the past week, as this beautiful video clip of my beautiful wife Evelyn giving birth to our beautiful daughter Clara has been viewed by nearly 6,000 people on YouTube - a companion video clip of my wife in hypno-birth, water-birth labor has received nearly as much global attention... in a week. In a week, those two clips attracted around 10,000 unique viewers... about as many unique viewers as come to our REALNEO community, in a week. The value of sharing these videos on YouTube is obvious - that is a good distribution channel to teach people about childbirth. So is REALNEO.

OMG - IT IS 911 in EC - ATTACK OF CREEPY WHITE FOLKS HAS BEGUNSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 02/14/2010 - 07:11.
There is a very disturbing article in today's Cleveland Plain Dealer, written by their urban-planning-master-in-training at Cleveland State University, that is so full of conflicts-of-interests and halftruths it will take weeks to dismantle the mess.

ACORNSubmitted by ward14resident on Fri, 02/05/2010 - 21:18.
ACORN has been deducting $10 from my checking account for a few years now. In November, 2009 I attempted to contact ACORN to stop the deductions but I have not been able to contact the organization by telephone and my emails have gone unanswered. The $10 deduction has continued since November and it was again deducted from my checking account this month, February. So since November, ACORN as deducted $40 from my account against my will. I even contacted the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to get the deduction stopped, to no avail.

realNEO ambient 14 Women in Hypnobirth in Waterbirth Falling Asleep While Having her BabySubmitted by Norm Roulet on Thu, 02/04/2010 - 08:44.
Women in labor under hypnobirth This High Definition ambient film clip is of an expert hypnobirthing mother, during her third naturally-wonderful, perfect hypnobirth, January 31, 2010, in hard labor, fully dilated - no medications or medical intervantion, other than a midwife breaking her water, later - one hour and 10 minutes before the baby was delivered - where she falls asleep between strong contractions that are less than 2 minutes apart. She has been up the entire night before tiling a bathroom, has not slept, and was stressed until she began focusing on her hypnobirthing.

Thank you Ronn Richard, Richard and David Goldberg, and the Board of the Cleveland FoundationSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 02/01/2010 - 15:39.
Clara Evelyn Roulet, 1 minute old I was so busy yesterday having a beautiful baby girl (by waterbirth - by hypnobirth - amazing photos and video to come), I didn't have a chance to thank Ronn Richard and the Board of the Cleveland Foundation for a second great gift that day, showing they recognized the need to transform our regional redevelopment and transformation efforts at the core, after many years supporting and funding what we now have. I believe this opens up new world's of opportunity for our region, just when they are needed most.

Lake Erie ice and Cleveland light houseSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 01/31/2010 - 19:18.
![]() Even with the wind chill from the north wind coming across from Canada being way below zero - the birds seemed completely oblivious. Swimming, sitting on the ice, and flying around with joy, there are thousands of birds in this image - but too small to see. As in the Artic with penguins, what's with all the avian activity when it is so damn cold?

![]() Computer design and computer lift controls have allowed a vast increase in lifting capacity/height in mobile hydraulic cranes over the last two or three decades. The German made Liebherr telescopic crane in the header image is a bit smaller (has fewer telescopic sections) than this Liebherr model LTM 1130-5.1. ( categories: )
