NEO Knows What It Means To Be One Of The World's Great Digital Cities!Submitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 06/01/2009 - 00:46.
Jeptha Wade Memorial at Lakeview Cemetery, which he helped organize, in 1869 Few Clevelanders realize Cleveland has been one of the world's greatest digital cities since the mid-1800s, but most Clevelanders enjoy the benefits, including much about University Circle, Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Museum of Art and so much else core to our identity and value, all thanks to Jeptha Wade and digital telecommunications. So, being one of the world's greatest digital cities in the 21st Century, and transforming our community through that, is as simple as empowering more people to go Wading.

"The Plain Dealer's use of selective benchmarking results in misleading conclusions"Submitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 05/26/2009 - 15:27.
I was glad to see printed in the Sunday May 24, 2009, Cleveland Plain Dealer "Cuyahoga County staffing, services unfairly characterized in Plain Dealer series", by James McCafferty, Cuyahoga County's administrator. There he challenges several PD analyses of Cuyahoga County government performance, writing "The Plain Dealer's use of selective benchmarking results in misleading conclusions", which he claims are "disingenuous and intellectually dishonest".

Wind Turbine blade root repairs mean downtimeSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 12:36.
Answer: Neo has no multi-megawatt wind turbines as of May, 2009 - and we have no jobs related to wind which would produce experience in this line of work. (not that Clipper wanted the experience - I'm sure they didn't). ( categories: )

River Day on Whiskey IslandSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 05/18/2009 - 16:37.
Saturday May, 15, 2009 was rainy with a fairly cool breeze off Lake Erie. Ed Hauser ran River Day ceremonies on Whiskey Island over the last few years. This year Ed wasn't there but a group who knew Ed walked in the rain to a little knoll to discuss the pedestrian bridge over the CSX tracks which Ed had worked to implement. It appears that the pedestrian bridge is in the works with the County. Kinda put a lump in my throat. ( categories: )

This Realneo banner is a detail from the Cultural Exchange sign on Larchmere in Cleveland, Ohio - The Exchange is a "literary based non-profit multicultural arts organization for children". IMHO, Realneo isn't much different!

Following The Ed Hauser WaySubmitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 04/28/2009 - 10:29.
Yesterday was a special day for me - a beautiful day in the region - so I ended it with my good friend Ed Hauser, as I often do. Alone on his own island, he is always easy to find. I was photographing the sunset right by where Ed's boats belong. They are gone... he is now walking on water. Because of Ed, my heart lives on Whiskey Island too, and I have photographed there scores of times.
SOPHISTICATED TECHNOLOGY IN OUR HANDS - INSECT BARCODESubmitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 04/27/2009 - 20:23.
I have a simple consumer model camera - but when I went outside tonight I saw bugs in the streetlight and decided to take their portraits. The results I find spectacular. Each insect is identifiable by its alternating or simultaneous wing beats. And by the amplitude and frequency of its wing beats per distance traveled. The street light is the metronome... There is real beauty and knowledge banging against the mercury vapor...and we can see it, can't we? ( categories: )

URBAN FARMING - HOME HARVESTING IN CLEVELAND OHIOSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 04/23/2009 - 09:30.
The banner is a mash up of photos taken 4.22.09 over a block or two on just one street - East 144 south of Kinsman - in Councilman Zach Reed's Mt. Pleasant ward in Cleveland, Ohio. Lots of houses on the street are still standing, condemned and empty with the newly straw covered lots having just been harvested in the last month or so. Dramatic. The "American Dream" full speed in reverse! ( categories: )
Fulton Street Bridge, Cleveland, OhioSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 04/21/2009 - 10:07.
Very sophisticated, time consuming, and expensive bridge construction. I give both the precast and cast in place workmanship a high mark. Kokosing has good QA on this job. ( categories: )
DRUPAL, JOOMLA AND BARUDAN IN CLEVELAND OHIOSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 04/19/2009 - 07:18.
With the option of spectacular color in our lives, I find it odd that most of us shy away from color. Just look at the autombiles around you - the only models which even touch bold color are VW bug and Mini. ( categories: )
Health at City View Garfield Heights OhioSubmitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 04/17/2009 - 15:59.
You can read the Cleveland Scene report about the problems at City View . I think City View will turn out to have a better ROI - even after most of the stores shutter up and including the health costs for the damaged workers in the still -open stores - than the MEDCON. The developer, John McGill, worked earlier in his career with the Wolsteins. ( categories: )
