Garden Ave. The MOVIE (or Law and Order TV dramatization)Submitted by lmcshane on Sat, 01/01/2011 - 11:59.
I don't know if the whole story would make a feature length movie Stay Tuned! Dunt, Dunt...
Treatment: Houses off Garden Court (cut to image of grimy, dark haired immigrant kid playing in the dirt, snot running down face--sketching out future real estate deals), adjacent to CMSD Denison School--original plan, demolish at taxpayer expense for Denison demolition and expansion (nice contract for Bowen Architecture). With CMSD Capital/Bond money drying up...that plan gets retooled to develop the Masonic Building and provide parking needed for that "PLAN." Marous is trotted out as possible developer to get that project moving and councilman encourages Art House to rent space in the Masonic Building, despite fact that the 501 (c ) 3 holds title/deed to three properties on Denison. Need to demolish Art House for CMSD parking is not so much an issue, but Land Bank gang still needs those CDBG funds directed to Art House...so councilman encourages Art House to give their Denison properties to the Land Bank. Art House says take a hike. Major FBI bust in New Jersey. Stay tuned.

Paging Brian Cummins...
This is a request for clarification from Brian Cummins (and Joe Cimperman).
1.) What is happening to the West 25th/Pearl Rd. Master Plan(s) with restructuring of CDC support?
2.) Who controls plan implementation, development and dispersal of vacant lots in this corridor?
Land Bank under Gus Frangos? Tremont West (Sammy Catania) or Detroit Shoreway (who?)? Or Old Brooklyn Development Corporation (Tom Collins?). Please tell me that Abe Bruckman is NOT getting paid by Detroit Shoreway Jeff Ramsey to oversee these plans.
3.) Brooklyn Plaza owned by Coral Group is in depreciation--tenants are talking about not renewing. Is the "plan" to move these tenants to the "International Village" shopping plaza slated across from Metro near Woodbridge--hatched under Joe Santiago?
4.) What is the status of the "International Village" plaza? Land cleared across from Metro at Woodbridge. SEE: http://realneo.us/content/vacant-property-solutions
2520 Woodbridge
I transposed the numbers...of the house torn down across from the new South Pointe Commons development. I think Henry Senyak has more of a read on that part of "Tremont." *
Very suspicious tear down of a 1920 home and commercial building. No real information forthcoming on what type of plaza is proposed, but it looks like it will probably include a Chinese fast food :( See Archwood owners...See Brooklyn Centre plaza...Same family...)
(*Update: link to Tremonter.com is gone "poof!" It's so easy to make online information disappear, which is why we still need newspapers that get microfilmed/indexed and archived at your local library).
Council REPs--I live and work here. I pay taxes. My tax dollar supports these CDCs (against my will). I deserve to know.
Transportation monies will be spent on State Route 42--Pearl/West 25th
BTW--Council reps, residents at NRP Foster Pointe want that circulator transportation to Metrohealth, Steelyard and east-west route 50 promised to them and reneged by RTA...any one out there--remember Maurice Small? Well, his mom lives at Foster Pointe and she is not happy.

Comments from Mr61x:
Here is an important connection not made as of yet. CMHA and the private building owners who were paid section 8 federal monies/rents/federal backed loans on properties that were valued by the auditor (I need help here). Maybe, lowering of the valuations of properties are only one aspect of this case? There is a section 8 landlord already involved with the case in connection with the head of CMHA. There has also been other raids a month or so ago at CMHA. Maybe the scam goes like this the auditors office places a tax valuation which is then used as a basis for federally backed loans on properties worth actually much less then the real value. The loans are approved then another shell company or person is able to receive federal money as guaranteed rent payments based on the inflated value. If you can justify higher property value then you can justify higher sale prices, higher equity loans and higher rents while the whole time your rent is 80% guaranteed paid by the stupid taxpayers. This scam almost makes more sense than one friend getting their property value lowered and saving a thousand bucks a year. Why worry about a thousand and exposing yourself to prosecution when you could play this shell game and make millions?

Rainbow events in Cleveland....
It's all an illusion.... smoke & cover...divide & conquer...deprive & develop.....
This is not democracy.....it's a joke. No wonder so many famiies left Cleveland....
The families were only USED as QUOTAS for the big boys to come into town and get billions of dollars in contracts for the people who can afford to pay to play!
Clark Avenue Closed down between 44th & 41st.
Pot holes everywhere.
Cheap car shops being steered out.
Families starving...
Accountability being denied...
hmmmmm....more quotas.....
What will the City of Cleveland do when all the quotas have died out or moved out?
Always Appreciative, "ANGELnWard14"

Fakejumpstart is so true
Fakejumpstart is so true and very funny - I hope Obama is following.
Fact-Check - PD - 3,000 start-ups from Jump Start... I think Obama lied to America there... I'm still trying to clean the vomit from my keyboard.

Mayor JOHNSON?
Is Tim Russo working the Hollywood scene, yet...?
Dennis Kucinich was on DICK Feagler last night...he's not going anywhere...no one takes his district away! Not while Obama owes him some favors....
For REAL?--Obama called Jackson...Johnson...and no media folks picked up on it?
Circle-jerking mess
Circle-jerking mess - parasites ruining our nation. If Obama is fooled by these fools, perhaps he is an alien.
I appreciate the President is trying to help Cleveland get a leg up - THANK YOU FOR THE $4.5 MILLION FOR LEAD ERADICATION, BUT DO NOT LET OUR LEADERS TOUCH IT... bring in an outside administrator to fix our lead poisoning crisis - now is not the time to be congratulating our big fat tax-burden-cows - these people are undeserving of his support and he should focus on forcing out the corrupt leadership here and helping rebuild the core community, not kissing NEOCON ass.
3,000 companies - my truthmeter reads bullshit.
Funny thing... Obama looked like an emperor with no clothes on at CSU... called Mayor Jackson "Johnson" - I assume he is pissed to have been played by these chumps... that was an expensive trip.
He didn't look happy in or with Cleveland AT ALL to me... but that could have just been from him being polluted and sickened here.

Yup... and didn't call him one of America's best mayors
Yup... in his opening 5 minutes... did correct himself... but didn't call him one of America's best mayors, like he had when he was campaigning for Jackson and Strickland last year (which failed).
In fact, when Obama made his closing remarks and highlighted some of the politicians that were there, it seemed they had all left... like the CIA had taken them off for questioning.
Best he could say for Cleveland was... well, he really didn't have anything good to say about Cleveland... he said we have problems like lots of rust belt cities.... and that he was moving on to another city, thank you.
He did pimp his sponsor JumpStart and the 3,000 start-ups, though... OH REALLY.
OH REALLY?!?!
What is the lifetime IRR of the $10s millions taxpayers have given this losing private venture... REALLY? And not the numbers the JumpStarters pimp to the community and President... the ones taxpayers want to see reducing the state deficit in return for paying Third Frontier taxes to millionaires.

When was the last year the Cleveland Indians won the series?
3,000 companies... REALLY - JumpStart doesn't even pimp their Johnson that big... from the JumpStart website
According to them the TAXPAYERS gave JumpStart $30 million in Third Frontier money, meaning the 826 jobs they claim to have created cost taxpayers about $40,000 each.
In-State tuition at Ohio State appears to be about $10,000 per year - so Ohio citizens could have used the same amount of money for the same number of people to have full scholarships at Ohio State (moving all that money into Ohio State coffers and so keeping it in the public funding stream, helping higher education here), and created 826 shining new stars for our future economy - or it could have paid for 1,000s of partial rides.
As I recall, I was told the County expects a return of 40 jobs per $1 million in public economic development support provided, making JumpStart outrageously expensive with very low return on our public funding investment.
And how many of these jobs will be in companies that fail...?!?! We shall see.
JumpStart theory #1... one home run will make up for the whole mess.
When was the last year the Cleveland Indians won the world's series? When shall they do it again? Those are the odds I give JumpStart on having a true home run with our $30 million... and counting down.
Meaning - raise more taxes to bail-out all these pompous development czars or they must will eat crow... and we know folks like that don't eat crow.

Entities tied to Frangos paid more than $9 million for the properties near the casino site. Yet his many companies are plagued with financial troubles, including more than $450,000 in overdue property taxes in Cuyahoga County and defaults on two county loans, totaling more than $1.5 million.

And today we find Medical Mart Hagan appointed to Metrohealth position....UNREAL...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update--April 25, 2011--Oh GREAT #$@%@#!NPI and Detroit Shoreway CDC to the rescue....read Hagan...at METRO--he's getting paid for this? This week's story by Jay Miller at Crain's Cleveland:
Community leaders eye a quick cleanup on West 25th Street
So, NOW, all of this sudden hoopla, because our clueless "leaders" SUDDENLY, SUDDENLY(!) realize that tourists for the May 2011 Elephant Crossing exhibit at the Metroparks Zoo and the International Market Conference slated for Cleveland in 2012 will be sorely disappointed by the red-carpet we have rolled out for them along OUR SCENIC BY-WAY SR 42 Pearl-West 25th St???!!
Let's see--and the Medical Mart and Casino crowds will probably have to entertain their kids somehow, too...
Here's a quick fix--(and you're getting it for free Bobbi Reichtell and Tim Hagan): RTA could run the same model of the Healthline Accordion-Streetcar style buses they now also run on Detroit and Lorain.
Easy-do it NOW.
ALSO, focus on stabilizing Peter Rubin's Coral Group Brooklyn Centre plaza in depreciation on Pearl Ave. with tenants that will attract young families with kids--get rid of Sammy's furniture and the REVOL...keep CVS and Best Cuts...through hearsay, they are not renewing their leases. We need one decent restaurant and/or coffee house. Do it NOW.
BTW, awhile back, Brooklyn Centre participated in Transportation for Liveable Communities initiative. So, why don't we get any recognition in any of the CLE+ promotional materials put out for this town??
Why are we routinely overlooked? We are the neighborhood that should and could extend the tourist experience with streetcar-transit, walking and bicycle amenities linking the West Side Market, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Steelyards, Metrohealth Hospital, Riverside Cemetery and the small town charm of a sidewalk neighborhood with interesting architecture and history.
What do Rokakis and Frangos have lined up for us??
I suppose this is indirectly my fault.
I knew Marc Canter from when I was based in Northern California and I made contact with him and proposed he come collaborate with me and some other community IT folks on some transformational IT work here in Northeast Ohio, building upon the value created by realNEO.
I invited Marc to come to Cleveland and plugged him in with everyone - asked my supposed friend Susan Miler to host him - introduced him to George Nemeth and Lev Gonick... Don Moulthrop and a few other supposed community leaders - within a few days of being here, Marc et al fucked me so hard I haven't looked back at Cleveland seriously since.
Big suprise this crew is fucking the President and JumpStart now.
So who funds them?... Marc Canter... Susan Miller... George Nemeth... Lev Gonick... Dan Moulthrop.. follow the money!
Archiving PD comments on Coyne and libraries
No tears for Coyne. While he was riding high he was arrogant , condescending and ruthless. Pride comes before the fall. As council president he and his gaggle of toadies operated above the law, with the assistance of the hyper-political law director. My observations at council meetings , during committee sessions and in the midst of public sector construction project activities, were of A man who doled out the largesse to political cronies based on " donations" rather than bona fide qualifications. Coyne openly crowed over handing RFC Contractors A construction management contract ( it was not qualified for ) over the services of 3 established, well qualified firms because they " donated to the right campaigns , causes" . Anthony O Calabreese III , A cheerleader for RFC Contractors and Pyramid Electric, was connected to Coyne via the " network" emanating from Jimmy Dimora. Dimora had appointed Calabreese' uncle to the County Library Board even as Anthony served as their legal counsel. The roots run deep, as I found out when attempting to work through public sector projects within the system. Coyne bypassed contract stipulations , used publicly voted construction funds for purposes apart from the original scope of work in the levy ballot language and ridiculed objectors. The library had free legal services available via the Prosecutor's office , but chose to use AOC for political advantage; and the control that could not be exerted on the public sector attorney. All the while RFC served as A political lobbyist for the County Library in Columbus, and sat on the Library foundation board. The firm's principal was rewarded with " special consultation service " fees and construction work at the Library. I sincerely hope the investigation follows the money , the associations and liasons as far as they may lead. What I witnessed while working in this cesspool was literally unbelievable. It would be comforting to see justice done ; hear the wheels of law grind slowly, unceasingly, until the " untouchables " , those who still believe that the injustices and excesses of their activities will remain shrouded in secrecy are exposed. Tenebrae
For those with a short memory--Rokakis especially touted the benefits of all libraries consolidating with Cuyahoga County Library system...libraries provide oversight and memory...not something a megalomaniac especially likes...
A Confederacy of Dunces
A Confederacy of Dunces! Classic read - tragic suicide.
They are all the Dunces... what is missing is the genius in your little Garden Avenue story.
The title derives from the epigraph by Jonathan Swift: "When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him."
It does make me feel good that in Cleveland the dunces are all in confederacy against me and realNEO. Perhaps we are the geniuses!
