Last year, at this same time of year, I lost my beloved dog-cat Bailey, and this year, at the same time of year, our friend Dick told us of a stray cat that arrived on his doorstep bloodied and beaten.  It turns out the cat had been hit by a car.

Dick nursed the kitty back to health and she is recovering!
