The Cleveland Tenants Organization, Bridging the Gap and The Homeless Service Agency Network will be hosting the third installment of its Housing 101 program, "Housing Formerly Incarcerated Persons" (FIPs).

This class, following two very successful classes held earlier this year, was created in order to address the difficulty legal professionals, frontline social workers and case mangers experience in finding permanent housing for their formerly incarcerated clients.

This class will be divided into two sessions, with each followed by a question and answer portion. The first session will feature local experts to present on working with sexual ex-offenders, housing discrimination, current government housing approaches and public housing rules. A second session will include a panel presentation by representatives of three major organizations with heavy caseloads of homeless FIPs. The panelists will respond to the information shared in the first session in reference to their clients' cases.

At this class, attendees will be provided with additional resources materials and a list of related links to assist in their daily practice. We are offering 3 continuing education credits for legal professionals (CLE), social workers/counselors (CEU) and chemical dependency specialists (RCH).
