Thousands of residents in Cleveland’s West Park neighborhood have seen the VOTE NO TO TAX LEVY SIGNS.

So far, since July 17, 2012 – the signs have been carried in demonstrations for over 215 hours – which is the equivalent of walking nearly 650 miles – in all kinds of weather -- along the streets and avenues of the John Marshall High School Neighborhood in Ward 18 and beyond – in Kamm’s Corners, in historic Tremont, along West 25th Street, across the Veterans Memorial Bridge, downtown Cleveland, in front of City Hall and the Board of Education Building, on the East Side, and other locations.

The opposition against Mayor Jackson’s 15-mill levy (Issue 107 in the November 2012 ballot) is overwhelming,

Over 250 of the SAVE JOHN MARSHALL! VOTE NO TO TAX LEVY! signs have been installed in yards all over Cleveland. Sad to say – some of the signs have been stolen by goons from the other side.

The SAVE JOHN MARSHALL campaign wants the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to renovate historic 80-year old John Marshall High School located on West 140 Street  – similar to the renovation of 83-year old John Hay and 80-year old Rhodes High Schools.

The SAVE JOHN MARSHALL campaign is opposing the levy because Mayor Jackson and the School District’s CEO Eric Gordon have not been honest and trustworthy with over 2,400 petitioners in the $50 million John Marshall High School Construction Project – and we don’t expect them to be honest and trustworthy in the use of funds from the levy.
