 Experience in life is a great teacher.... I historically had a bad habit of wanting for others-what they did not want for themselves. It sucked. I walked by the historic bank building at corner of Pearl and Broadview today - looking in the window - it appears that the building is being systematically stripped of the marble wall trim.  The interior is very reminescent of the United Bank Building - which was renovated to house Crop restaurant.   The building is listed with CBRE commercial real estate.  http://www.cbre.com/EN/findproperty/Pages/default.aspx

Wake up America - we have folks who are willing to work hard - scrap collecting in a shopping cart is hard - but our system fails to allow them to be legitimately engaged.   

In Cleveland, Ohio (image above) and across the nation scrap metal yards are often busiest on Friday afternoons as the weeks' collection of metal is brought in for beer money.
