At a Social Security forum today, the impact the deficit would have on Social Security and Medicare was discussed. The outlook is not good. They are considering raising the age you qualify, cutting payments by 3% as you get older, just when needs are higher, so that if you live long, you could have a 12% cut.

There was a time in history when hillbillies gathered in circles at every opportunity from cookouts to funerals to have a little Jamboree with the family. Soon, there was harmony on the mountaintop with laughter and clapping that echoed across the valley.

With TWDC's second largest funder, Neighborhood Progress, Inc., President/CEO topping the agenda for last night's (Aug. 18, 2011) regularly scheduled meeting, there was no quorum.  Out of the fifteen elected Board members, only six showed up for this all important get-to-gather.  Two ex-officios did attend as well.
