controversial, and potentially very damaging to all of the Great Lakes region,
piece of legislation that passed both the Ohio House and Senate—and especially
for your “11th hour” editorial leading Ohio governor John Kasich, and all readers,
back to his utterance of support for the Great Lakes last year on the campaign trail.

 Community activist groups, including The Imperial Women, Stop Targeting Ohio's Poor, The Greater Cleveland Immigrant Support Network, The Lucasville Uprising Freedom Network and The Spot Youth Empowerment Organization will rally with other community groups at 6:45 p.m.

 Here is a report from the Mansfield News Journal  regarding a recent Ohio Supreme Court decision on public records.

The Zanesville Times Recorder points out that the Ohio public records law has recently been weakened by Gov. Kasich and the Ohio Legislature.

TWDC sent out another announcement about the ODOT  updates, which are to be held monthly. This one gives very little time since the meeting is TOMORROW. Since they are to be held every month, it looks like it will always be on a Wednesday and at Sokolowski's. Tonight is only an hour, not two hours as it was last time. Text of the message follows.

Most of the seeds have left the center flower, leaving a very neat green ball.

Today was a good day to move the machines out onto the front porch, give  my granddaughter (who just turned 8) a big bag of scrap material and enjoy watching her learning to piece her first strip (crazy) quilt.

When we packed up around 4:30, she looked over and said, "Grandma, didn't we have a great day."

We're starting a "Summer 2011" scrapbook to include all the different things she's learning to do while school's out.  We started this project with giving her some cake icing and letting her decorate a cake.

I’ve so far given away over 30 bouquets of roses, starting with old garden rose bouquets to TWDC’s Chris Garland, ODOT’s Craig Hebegrand and to Director Ron Brown of Cleveland Planning in gratitude for his help. At the recent ODOT update and Q&A at Sokolowski’s, Safety Director Marty Flask sat beside me and said he’d heard about the bouquet for Director Brown, it was mentioned at a meeting, adding that City Hall is a small place.

Lots to think about on this subject matter! 

 Seems like Cleveland would be the place to start recycling glass and improving our quality of life with such resources...
