Again, it seems that somebody had their ears on at the OSS meeting last Monday night.

This morning I arose to find Treehouse business owner Tom Leneghan and Jason Beudert on College Avenue with a truck load of orange cones, yellow tape and laminated signs stating "Tremont Resident Parking Only."

They were attempting to block off street parking for residents before the bar's sports patrons began arriving.

"I think Ohio can be the next Silicon Valley"

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Fri, 10/23/2009 - 07:20.

"I think Ohio can be the next Silicon Valley", said Cleveland Foundation President and "former head of North American research and development for Panasonic" Ronn Richard, for a November 2007 Cleveland Plain Dealer article titled "German solar company plans HQ in Cleveland". The PD then reported: "For months, the Cleveland Foundation has sent teams to Europe in an effort to sell Ohio to solar and wind turbine companies as the right place to manufacture."

Today, less than two years later, the PD reports "IBC Solar to leave Cleveland for San Francisco." "The company has maintained its one-person U.S. headquarters here since February 2008." "Cleveland Foundation President Richard hadn't given up Thursday evening. He was to meet with Buntain today to talk about the company's decision -- and what it will take to keep a presence in Ohio."

"Of course the business community is behind it"

I was quite breathtaken when I scanned the list of contributors to Issue 6 - the NEOCON ploy to restructure Cuyahoga County - published today in the primary communications vehicle for NEOCON 6, the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Disgraced, bankrupt National City Bank contributed $30,000 for Issue 6 - in Federal Bail-out funds, must be.

The article reports "The primary authors of Issue 6, County Prosecutor Bill Mason and Parma Heights Mayor Martin Zanotti, lent $5,000 each to the cause."

Cuyahoga County Dems Endorse Cummins

Submitted by getoutandvote on Fri, 10/23/2009 - 03:58.

I had an opportunity to talk with Cummins about the voter registration and Democratic party allegations being leveled by the Nagin campaign and he convinced me that just like the "Loner" charges, they are unfounded.  He voted by absentee ballot while serving in the Peace Corps and had registered right after high school.  In Cleveland, he voted with provisional ballots after having moved back.  Furthermore, Cummins is the candidate endorsed by the Cuyahoga County Democrats.  I found that hard to believe given Nagin's stance that he had worked for decad

US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) deeply invested in spying Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and others

Submitted by Eternity on Thu, 10/22/2009 - 11:16.
Max Eternity - Though it has been an open secret for many years now, Wired Magazine has "officially" revealed specific details of the US Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) degree of involvement in domestic spying.  The CIA, still embroiled in an ongoing investigation of its complicity in the Abu Ghraib torture scandal and the Bush-ear telcom domestic spy plan, now faces the real possibility of finding itself mired in yet another policy failure, which could result in class-action law suits.  Click image to watch video.

CAN WE CONSIDER THIS A SMALL VICTORY - PROGRESS OR ARE THEY JUST LOSING GROUND?

Ok Folks, you can say it happened here.  This fenced outdoor patio obstructing the public right of way has been discussed at several meetings and - as you can now see, YOU HAVE A CLEAR THOROUGHFARE.

Can we call it a victory, or is this just progress or maybe they are just losing ground.  Either way - the second gate is gone and you can get through with a wheelchair, a stroller or a wagon of little fellers.  Enjoy.

Somebody must have dropped a dime  - the gate left awfully fast.
