NO AMENDMENT PROCESS AS AFFORDED BY ROBERT'S RULES - NO VOTE

Submitted by jerleen1 on Tue, 09/22/2009 - 21:35.

There was an interesting meeting tonight at the Central Tremont Block Club.  The by-law committee reps. came to discuss proposed changes to the TWDC by-laws.

First, no one can seem to answer the question as to whether there will be an amendment process as afforded by Robert's Rules at the special meeting.  My take, no amendment process -  no vote.

Also, the new changes not so subtly shift all the power to those inside the organization - which they already have too much of.

Why Do Plain Dealer And Phillip Morris "engage in a dangerous, hypothetical game of racial "what if"" about Randie Winston

Submitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 09/22/2009 - 15:12.

When my friend Kieth called and asked me to come over, last Thursday night, I could tell by his voice something was very wrong. When I arrived, he looked in shock - he told me his youngest son's mother had called to say their child had shot a mail carrier in Maple Heights.

the brownouts at fire Station 21 in tremont have started again. (our and fire fighters lives in danger - its criminal)

Submitted by Quest-News-Serv... on Mon, 09/21/2009 - 23:04.
I wanted to drop a line and let everyone know that the brownouts at Station 21 have started again. Anytime there are fewer than 187 firefighters scheduled, the company that mans both Engine 2 and Engine 21 (The Fire Boat) are disbanded and sent to other stations across the city. With a new Captain at the station and new leadership coming to the area (Goodbye, Mr. Santiago)there is hope for fighting this decrease in service for the Tremont area.

NEO's bounty on a glorious last Saturday of summer

Submitted by Susan Miller on Sun, 09/20/2009 - 18:32.

This Saturday I actually left the compound. My roommate and I visited the Shaker Square Farmer's Market. I had to get Honey Crisp apples cause they're in season. And then we went to the Ohio City Bike Co-Op so that she could investigate a bicycle and then onto the Westside Market.

Wow! What a cornucopia NEO farmer's are pulling out of the ground!

"There's No Denying Obama's Race Plays Factor In Protests"

Submitted by Eternity on Sat, 09/19/2009 - 12:48.

Max Eternity - After an entire summer of heated discussions and culture clashes at town hall meetings created by the government as a forum to discuss healthcare reform in America, the specter of Southern white supremacy tied-at-the-hip with a particular slice of the blue collar white, working and middle class, erupted in sea of vitriol; putting on full display the racist slant that a portion of America's collective has of the current state of affairs in the United States and its current president--a bi-racial, black man named Barack Obama.

The fact that Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association, will own casinos is reason for a NO vote against the casino issue on the November ballot.

Cuyahoga River tenants - St Mary's Cement (USA)

circular silo stair silhoet image jeff buster

This image is on its side - the reality is 90 degrees counter clockwise.  but that doesn't matter.   For a web site, the landscape view is easier to project on a 16x9 screen.

The afternoon light across two silos (one riveted, one cast in place concrete) at St Mary's Cement in Cleveland, Ohio put the helical staircase shadow spectacularly on the concrete silo.  Every detail goes to the focus of the sun.

NYT: 36 Hours in Cleveland

Submitted by Eternity on Fri, 09/18/2009 - 22:41.

New York Times - “YOU Gotta Be Tough” was a popular T-shirt slogan worn by Clevelanders during the 1970s, a grim period marked by industrial decline, large-scale population flight and an urban environment so toxic the Cuyahoga River actually caught on fire. These days it still helps to be at least a little tough; a fiercely blue-collar ethos endures.
