Wednesday, July 19, a rally will be held in downtown Cleveland to expand awareness of the critical community health, education and economic crisis of lead poisoning. The rally will begin by the Old Stone Church on Public Square, where supporters will convene for a march to Cleveland Mall C, next to Cleveland City Hall - there will be presentations on lead and other appropriate activities...

  • 2,000 small flags will be planted in the grass around Mall C, representing the 2,000 children who will be lead poisoned in greater Cleveland this year
  • Children from 20 or so Headstart programs in the area - 100+ kids - will attend the rally to participate in the community awareness process, learn about lead, and become activists for a healthy future - many other children and parents will be involved - join in
Keep an eye on REALNEO for updates on this rally. You are encouraged to help with the planning and logistics, as well. You may help by:
  • You may donate 400 of something nice to give to 2-6 year old kids and parents in their activity bags (which will have lead literature, a healthy snack, juice box etc)... we talked about free coupons to museums, etc... be creative here
  • Spread the word - plan to attend and bring friends
